What we clean

We remove surface contamination from metal, stone and masonry — on site, with no chemicals, no grit and no mess. Here is what we typically tackle.

Rust and corrosion removal

Surface rust, mill scale and salt-air corrosion on steel, cast iron, chrome and galvanised metal. The laser ablates the oxide layer without touching the base metal underneath, so you get clean, bright steel ready for coating or welding — not a pitted, thinned panel.

TYPICAL USES

  • Boat hulls and trailer frames
  • Farm equipment and implements
  • Gates, railings and structural steel
  • Classic and vintage vehicle panels

BEFORE

Flaking rust, orange staining, salt deposits, seized fasteners

AFTER

Bare bright metal, dimensionally unchanged, ready to prime or weld

Paint and coating removal

Old paint, powder coat, epoxy, anti-foul and flaking finishes stripped back to bare metal. Because the laser only heats the coating and not the substrate, thin panels stay flat and welds stay intact — no warping, no grinding marks.

TYPICAL USES

  • Vehicle restoration and resprays
  • Boat anti-foul removal
  • Machinery and equipment refurbishment
  • Architectural metalwork

BEFORE

Peeling paint, multiple old coats, powder coat that has lifted or bubbled

AFTER

Clean bare metal with a consistent surface profile, ready for a fresh coat

Grease and oil cleaning

Baked-on grease, carbonised oil and hydraulic fluid residue on engine components, gearboxes, diff housings and industrial machinery. The laser vaporises the contamination without solvents, leaving a clean surface that coatings and gaskets can bond to properly.

TYPICAL USES

  • Engine blocks and heads
  • Gearboxes and axle housings
  • Industrial pumps and compressors
  • Agricultural machinery

BEFORE

Thick carbonised grease, oil-soaked surfaces, failed gasket residue

AFTER

Clean, dry metal ready for inspection, painting or reassembly

Soot and fire damage

Carbon and smoke staining on steel, brick, stone and concrete after a fire. We can clean structural steel in place without dismantling, and restore masonry surfaces without sandblasting or harsh chemicals that can damage the substrate.

TYPICAL USES

  • Post-fire structural steel
  • Fireplaces and braai areas
  • Brick and stone facades
  • Industrial plant after a fire event

BEFORE

Black carbon deposits, smoke staining, acrid smell, compromised surface

AFTER

Clean surface revealing the original material, ready for assessment or recoating

Graffiti removal

Tags and spray paint removed from metal gates, fencing, signage, brick and stone. The laser is precise enough to clean the graffiti without damaging the surface underneath — no solvent staining, no ghost marks left behind.

TYPICAL USES

  • Metal gates and security fencing
  • Commercial signage
  • Brick and rendered walls
  • Public infrastructure

BEFORE

Spray paint tags, marker pen, sticker residue on metal or masonry

AFTER

Clean surface with no solvent staining or ghost marks

Weld prep and restoration

Clean metal before welding for better penetration and stronger joints, and clean up heat discolouration and spatter after. We also do careful restoration work on classic vehicles, heritage pieces and precision components where abrasive methods carry too much risk.

TYPICAL USES

  • Pre-weld prep on structural and fabrication work
  • Post-weld cleanup and finishing
  • Classic and vintage vehicle restoration
  • Heritage and museum-quality metalwork

BEFORE

Mill scale, rust or paint at the weld zone; heat tint and spatter after welding

AFTER

Clean, oxide-free metal at the joint; bright finish with no abrasive marks

How we charge

We quote by the job for smaller, well-defined items, and by the hour for larger or ongoing work. Travel on the West Coast is included in the quote — there are no surprise call-out fees.

Job rate

Fixed price for a defined item — a trailer frame, a gate, a set of panels. You know the cost before we start.

Hourly rate

For larger jobs or where the scope is hard to define upfront. We agree an estimate before we begin.

Travel included

We cover the West Coast. Travel time and fuel are built into the quote, not added at the end.

Not sure if it's a laser job?

Send us a photo. We'll tell you straight whether the laser is the right tool, roughly what it will cost, and if something else would serve you better. We'd rather give you an honest answer than take on a job that isn't right for the technology.

  • Very large areas of thick paint may be faster and cheaper to blast — we'll say so.
  • Some coatings and substrates respond better to other methods — we'll tell you.
  • If we can't do it, we'll try to point you in the right direction.
We make light work of it, wherever you are.
